Transience

Flames are fingers reaching out;

A hand splayed, shrieking for help.

Its voice is heard; light seen,

Yet only for a little while.

Smoke and ashes are its only remains.

Eyes soon adjust to seeing without it.

(A/N: This is a post commemorating the victim of the Delhi gangrape case of December 16, 2012, and throwing light on the current view of the case.)
