As children they played oblivious
To all the fears
The world offered them naught.
To laugh and leer
Was the only expectation of them.
A child’s love is unbound
And so was theirs
Friendship was cake and sunshine
All truth or dares
And books and songs in libraries.
They grew up for all others,
As nature demands.
But they cared not for these rules
Together; innocence was adamant
Never to lose its hold on both jewels.
Circumstances forced their naive times
Into a precious rarity.
But brother and sister part only in flesh.
Their bond ever generates hilarity,
Nostalgia, wistfullness and infinite joy.
